Wan Lin Chang
The work explores the possibility of infinite poetry
The Timeless and boundaryless spatial dimensions
About nature
That is the memory in the body
Starting from childhood
Return to oneself
It is the people around me who are open to nature
It is all an innate and instinctive perception
About time
That is the memory in the mind
It is every present that is stitched into every section
About the unreliability of memories
That is the consciousness in the soul
It is a link of all possibilities, or none
These are the continuation and revisiting that every work aspires to pursue
All kinds of emotions
To light, to nothing
It is transformed, subtle and delicate
Every work is like a poem
To subtle daintiness
Some unnamed perceptions
Some fragments of a remembrance
Some landscapes
Reappearance
Connection Pierce
Static in Linear, Staying at Nodes
Movement Fades along the Seam
Waves flying
Lingering phase
Residual shadow
A Cancelled Journey
This series of works documents a 2018 journey to Iceland that could never begin
It was the halted departure due to my father's sudden illness
The dance of black sands and white waves
Those lines symbolising the waves are like my mother’s hands
Stitching together our nearly shattered perceptions
Perhaps now, after years of healing
I can write with ease
In the surge of these currents, there is more
The translation between different dimensions When facing love and fear of parting
A cancelled journey
This series of works records the transition from 2018 to the present
Wavelength Series
Line linking line
Fragment following fragment
As an extension of the Current
In the varied forms of waves
A singular heartfinds calm
Wavelengths, some long, some short
Are linear
Are fragmentary
Are solitary, silent meditations
