This etching Diptych has developed from a panorama of eight drawings drawn on the shore on the Isle of Skye with a feather dipped in ink and charcoal. The large zinc etching plates were first drawn with the same feather using Sugar lift aquatint technique which offers a direct painterly line to be etched onto the zinc plate. The diptych is hand inked and printed though a traditional Rochat etching press onto Somerset Paper. It is one of a series of works inspired by the time spend on the Isle of Skye.
