Laura Melissa Williams works at the intersection of art and science. She blends 20 years of experience in design, business and futures with recent explorations in art, nature and science.
Laura’s art practice is immersive and research based, focusing on how we connect with each other and our urban and natural environments. Her passion lies in scratching under the surface to reveal what’s hidden beneath the veneer of our lives, exploring and revealing changing societal, behavioural and technological shifts and showcasing possible futures.
Fascinated by the wild (in both our minds and our environment), she continually rewilds herself through roads and seas less travelled. She’s a trained paragliding pilot and strapped into her portable flying machine she soars high above the earth, learning the language of the skies and the oceans of air that inhabit our everyday life. Through her art practice she’s explored subjects including our world as seen from the skies, and the skies as experienced on earth.
