Sax Impey
Sax’s work focuses on the sea, where the mind can breathe, observe, and reflect, away from the shrill desperation of a culture that invents ever-new ways to fill every space with less and less. His paintings and drawings are often large scale, immersive and elemental incorporating staggering detail and dexterity. He also makes films, installations and collaborative works. As a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Yachtmaster, he has sailed many thousands of miles at sea in many parts of the world. Sax works from the Porthmeor Studios in St Ives, Cornwall and is represented by Anima Mundi.
