Laura’s art practice is immersive and research based, focusing on how we connect with each other and the world around us. She visually and viscerally embraces nature and continually rewilds herself through roads and seas less travelled. As a trained paragliding pilot, strapped into her portable flying machine, she soars high above the earth, learning the language of the skies and the oceans of air that inhabit our everyday life. Her pieces blend ‘harder’ elements including data and natural/urban systems alongside ethereal natural forms. She chooses mediums best able to articulate her ideas, often working with inks, pencil, paper and digital projection.
