Hannah Scott - Everything Our Hearts Desire

With the current restrictions due to Covid-19 we have been forced into isolation - to work from home, to travel and consume less. Despite economies slowing and pollution levels dropping, global supply chains continue to operate to transport materials and goods to us from around the world and we are more reliant on them than ever before. In November 2018, Hannah spent a month at sea onboard one of the largest container ships in the world. She sailed from the UK, via the Suez Canal, to Malaysia. As the only passenger and woman, the journey felt like a self-imposed isolation, in which she discovered the remoteness of the ocean, the gift of time, and her simultaneous independence from and reliance on capitalism.
